We are pleased to announce that the 38th ASAT (Australian Scholastic Achievement Test) will take place on Sunday, 18 October 2026. This full-length mock exam serves as a significant milestone for Year 5 students who are preparing for the 2027 Selective High School Placement Test. Furthermore, it offers a realistic testing experience alongside meaningful insights into their current performance levels.
Key Benefits of Sitting the ASAT
The ASAT provides students with a valuable opportunity to practise essential test‑taking strategies. Consequently, students can strengthen their exam confidence while identifying areas that need improvement. By working through realistic exam conditions, students learn how to manage time effectively, respond to challenging questions, and refine their overall skills. Therefore, many families view the ASAT as one of the most reliable tools for guiding selective school preparation.
What Makes the ASAT Essential?
Authentic CBT Practice
ASAT closely mirrors the official selective school exam in timing, structure, question style, and computer‑based testing (CBT) format. Although venue conditions may vary slightly, the experience helps students build confidence and develop the digital skills required for success in the real exam.
Detailed Diagnostic Insights
Students receive comprehensive performance reports, including section‑by‑section accuracy, overall and gender‑specific ranks, performance bands, and comparison charts showing how their ASAT results compare with peers who selected the same selective school. These insights help families pinpoint strengths, identify weaknesses, and refine study strategies.
Informed School Selection Support
With one of the largest datasets available, ASAT offers strong statistical indicators to support selective school choices. While not definitive predictions, these data‑driven insights provide valuable guidance for families making important decisions about school preferences.
Real Exam Experience Simulation
ASAT recreates the full exam environment from following supervisor instructions to managing scheduled breaks and navigating test‑day routines. Many families report a noticeable boost in confidence and readiness after completing ASAT.
Register Early Due to High Demand
ASAT is one of the most sought‑after preparation events of the year, and seats fill quickly. Families are strongly encouraged to register early to secure their preferred session and avoid missing out.
Don’t Miss This Crucial Preparation Opportunity!
Secure your spot early and give your child the confidence, skills, and insight they need to succeed in the Selective High School Placement Test.
